Efficiency Lab for Architecture used Oasys Software's Oasys MassMotion pedestrian simulation software to inform the design of the Avenues Early Learning Centre in Shenzhen. Their challenge was to transform a former industrial warehouse into a dynamic learning environment that fosters social learning through strategic spatial organization and circulation.

Using the 'Vision Time' tool within Oasys MassMotion, the team generated heat maps of vertical surfaces to analyze what building occupants would see as they moved. This analysis from Oasys Software allowed them to strategically carve out common spaces and niches, creating a highly connected and interactive environment that activates the building for spontaneous social learning and a sense of belonging.
