A Oasys Software Case Study
The University of Limerick required a structural and dynamic analysis for its new Living Bridge, a complex pedestrian bridge designed to connect its campus across the River Shannon. To meet this challenge, the university utilized Oasys GSA structural design and analysis software from vendor Oasys Software to model the bridge's behavior under various loads.
Oasys Software provided a comprehensive modeling solution using Oasys GSA for the global analysis of the bridge spans and dynamic pedestrian loading, Oasys Alp for modeling the piled foundations, and Oasys AdSec for calculating section capacities. This multi-software approach enabled the engineering team to accurately determine critical load effects, dynamic response factors, and provide essential parameters for wind tunnel testing, ensuring the successful design and fabrication of the structure.
