A Oasys Software Case Study
The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay used Oasys Software's Slope program to perform a detailed parametric study on the stability of soil-nailed slopes. Their challenge was to understand how various nail parameters and slope conditions influence overall stability, which is critical for effective and safe geotechnical design in a variety of projects.
Using Oasys Slope for analysis, the team was able to efficiently model slopes with and without soil-nails under different conditions. The study, which was presented at a major conference and accepted for publication, yielded significant results. Oasys Software's solution enabled the researchers to determine optimal soil nail inclinations and layout patterns for different slope heights and to quantify how factors like rising water surfaces impact stability, providing valuable design insights for the geotechnical engineering community.
