Caernarfon Castle in Wales needed a carefully designed new entrance and ticketing pavilion that could improve visitor access without disturbing the historic fabric or archaeology of the site. Oasys Software was used on the project, with Structural Suite and GSA supporting the engineering analysis for the new structure.

Oasys Software helped HL Structural Engineers model and assess the pavilion’s slender stainless-steel frame and structural glass roof, using GSA for intuitive bracing design, P-delta and buckling analysis, and 2D finite element analysis. The result was a modern yet congruent entrance pavilion that sits independently within the castle gateway, met the strict heritage constraints, and established the design benchmark for further development at the site.
