Beijing Daxing International Airport - Customer Case Study

The Beijing Daxing International Airport was challenged with designing a new terminal capable of efficiently serving 45 million annual passengers and scaling to 72 million. To proactively identify and resolve potential passenger flow issues before construction, the airport planners utilized Oasys Software's MassMotion simulation product.

Oasys provided a solution by integrating its MassMotion software with Simio 3D and Elevate to create a dynamic, intelligent simulation of passenger movement. This analysis pinpointed critical bottlenecks, which led to major design changes including the relocation of elevators and the addition of new escalators. The highly visual Oasys simulations allowed for these cost-effective modifications to be made early in the construction process, ensuring a more efficient layout and preventing future congestion.
