Beca, a consultancy firm, was tasked with ensuring the new Park Hyatt Auckland hotel met strict five-star comfort standards, with a key challenge being the minimization of footfall-induced vibration in the structure. To assess the vibration against design criteria, Beca employed Oasys Software's product, Oasys GSA Building, for finite element modeling.

Using the Oasys GSA model, Beca's engineers analyzed walking paths and predicted vibration response factors, specifically for bedrooms adjacent to corridors. The analysis by Oasys Software successfully demonstrated that the design met the strict vibration requirements for both daytime and night-time occupancy, ensuring guest comfort for the flagship hotel which opened in 2017.
