A Oasys Software Case Study
Arup was engaged to provide the detailed design for the Maari Well Head Platform substructure, located off the coast of New Zealand. The challenge involved designing the base, jacket, and deck to handle deeper water and harsher conditions than previous projects. For this complex engineering task, Arup utilized Oasys Software's GSA analysis program.
Oasys Software's GSA was used to model and analyze the platform's plated base and deck structures for various conditions including loadout and installation. The software's utility was enhanced by its ability to seamlessly export the model to other design packages for further analysis via its COM interface, proving to be an invaluable and easy-to-use tool for the project's successful completion. The resulting platform is designed to yield approximately 35,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
