An Oasys MassMotion, data driven simulation of pedestrian movement for a transit facility

TraffMobility, working in partnership with Strasman Architects Inc., needed a way to model pedestrian movement in a complex multi-modal transit hub with multiple levels, transfers, and dense urban constraints. Using Oasys MassMotion, Oasys Software helped the team simulate how people would move through the concourse, pedestrian bridge, and underground tunnel to better understand facility operations and the impact of design.

Oasys Software’s MassMotion enabled TraffMobility to build a data-driven pedestrian simulation with detailed time-based animation, heat maps, and simulation videos to test different layout options and scenarios. The results helped validate that the design met user needs and improved communication with clients and stakeholders by clearly showing journey times, mode transfers, peak-hour demand, and overall pedestrian flow.
