Acciona - Customer Case Study

Acciona is supporting the São Paulo Metro Line 6 project, the largest infrastructure project currently under construction in Latin America. As the line’s 15 underground stations are being designed and built, the team needed to understand passenger flows, station capacity, accessibility, and evacuation conditions for a projected daily ridership of 630,000 and peak-hour demand of nearly 12,000 passengers at Santa Marina. Oasys Software’s MassMotion was used to support these station modelling and pedestrian experience studies.

Oasys Software and MNSolutions used MassMotion extensively to simulate normal operation and evacuation scenarios, incorporating BIM models into a clear 3D environment to analyse movement across the stations. This helped Acciona’s design team improve safety, comfort, sustainability, and accessibility, including better planning for elevators and reduced-mobility routes with fewer conflicts. The result was a more informed station design process and a realistic visualisation of how Santa Marina and the wider line will perform at peak demand.
