Ktown launches a culturally grounded food delivery app with OAK THEORY's flat-rate delivery model

The customer, Ktown, needed a food delivery web application that would support local Korean restaurants by offering more than just a standard ordering service. Their challenge was to create a platform that felt culturally authentic and unmistakably Korean, while also being instantly familiar and easy to use for ordering. They partnered with the vendor, Oak Theory, for branding and web app design to achieve this.

Oak Theory designed the Ktown web app to mirror the experience of exploring a real neighborhood, integrating promotional and educational content into the ordering flow. Their solution utilized custom illustrations and Korean-specific iconography, alongside a color scheme and visual identity rooted in Korean culture. The architecture was built to support discovery while keeping the order process frictionless. Oak Theory successfully delivered a digital storefront that helps customers directly support small businesses through a low, flat-rate delivery fee.
