Five Guys, the fast-growing burger restaurant chain, needed a better way to communicate with a largely deskless workforce across the UK, France, Germany and Spain. Relying on printed notices and staff-room postings wasn’t working, and they also needed easy access to training materials, rotas and payslips. To solve this, Five Guys partnered with Oak Engage to find a more instant, trackable internal communications solution.
Oak Engage implemented an employee engagement app called Chatty Patty, branded to reflect Five Guys’ identity and tailored for mobile-first access. During the pandemic, Oak Engage helped launch a slimmed-down version so the company could keep employees informed with news, updates and push notifications. The results included 99% of users accessing on mobile, 68% user growth in two months, and 141,000 content views from March to July.
