Dialpad, the cloud VoIP and business phone system provider, needed a secure, scalable way to centralize contacts across Gmail, Office 365 and every flavor of Microsoft Exchange without the heavy maintenance of an in‑house build. Facing those red flags, Dialpad turned to Nylas and its Contacts/Universal APIs to provide a provider‑agnostic solution that could be integrated quickly and securely.

Using Nylas’s provider‑agnostic Contacts API and OAuth flow, Dialpad implemented bi‑directional contacts sync with full CRUD across Gmail, Office 365 and 100% of Exchange instances. The Nylas integration was launched in two days by a single engineer, saved hundreds of hours of ongoing maintenance, enabled Dialpad to focus engineering resources on Voice Intelligence and AI features, and helped bring on and retain hundreds of new customers.
