How the Austrian Government Uses PSPDFKit to Bring Digital Signatures to Everyone

The Austrian Federal Computing Centre (BRZ) needed a secure, simple way to let citizens digitally sign PDF documents in Austria’s Digitales Amt app, part of the oesterreich.gv.at initiative. To meet legal, technical, and user-experience requirements for government-grade electronic signatures, BRZ evaluated several options and chose Nutrient’s PDF SDK.

Nutrient implemented PAdES-based digital signatures with a custom signature appearance, including a new signatureOnly mode delivered quickly to match BRZ’s requirements. Nutrient also supported integration directly with its engineers through a kickoff session and follow-up support, helping launch the feature in the new app version and advancing Austria’s e-government services with legally binding digital signatures.
