Yamaichi Special Steel Renews All Mission-Critical Systems with Nutanix

Yamaichi Special Steel Co., Ltd., a metal‑processing supplier of tool steels and production materials for the automotive industry, faced rising hosting and operating costs, vendor lock‑in, and growing inventory-management pressure after COVID‑era stockpiling. Their legacy data‑center setup limited backup options and slowed IT-driven initiatives, making faster provisioning, better security, and more flexible in‑house IT control critical.

Yamaichi moved all mission‑critical systems onto the Nutanix Cloud Platform—using Nutanix AOS, Cloud Manager, Database Service (NDB) and TAM—to run sales, billing, shipping, inventory, analytics (PostgreSQL/Tableau) and an electronic workflow. The change cut operating costs, removed vendor dependence, sped VM and database provisioning, improved availability and GUI‑driven productivity, and enabled in‑house IT to act faster on security, analytics and production needs.
