With Nutanix Cloud Platform And AHV Hypervisor, Focus Now On Service Delivery Not Infrastructure At St Albans City & District Council

St Albans City & District Council needed to modernize its aging IT infrastructure and reduce the time spent keeping systems running, so staff could focus more on service delivery than on infrastructure management. Working with Nutanix and its Nutanix Cloud Platform with AHV hypervisor, the council also wanted to improve availability, performance, and scalability while avoiding disruption to users.

Nutanix, supported by Epaton, migrated more than 90 VMs to AHV using Nutanix Move, with the new environment quickly up and running and no impact on end users. The result was a major reduction in datacentre footprint from nine racks to two, lower power and cooling costs, improved performance, and on-demand scalability. St Albans City & District Council also reported no outages or downtime since implementation and a much smaller management burden, with one central console for most tasks.
