A Nutanix Case Study
Western Washington University (WWU) faced the challenge of replacing its aging and underperforming HP EVA server and storage environment. The university's IT infrastructure was unbalanced, slow, and difficult to manage, with funding constraints making large, upfront purchases a necessity. To address these issues, WWU selected the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform and Prism Pro management solution to modernize its data center.
By implementing Nutanix, WWU consolidated four racks of equipment into just 6u of space and eliminated 20 hours per week of storage management. The solution provided a single pane of glass for management, enabled non-disruptive one-click upgrades, and delivered dramatically faster performance. This allowed the IT team to seamlessly migrate 278 VMs with zero downtime and scale efficiently for future projects, all while reducing power consumption.
