Vast-Auto Distribution, a leading automotive parts provider in Eastern Canada that hosts IT services for over 50 parts stores and 80 garages, was struggling with a five-year-old SAN and aging servers. Nightly backups and end-of-day sales reports were spilling into business hours, IT staff had to manually stagger jobs overnight, and the legacy infrastructure created a heavy administrative burden that limited new service offerings.

Vast-Auto replaced its legacy SANs with four Dell EMC XC630 appliances running Nutanix hyperconverged software, quickly migrating about 50 VMs (including its Epicor POS). The move delivered markedly faster application performance, cut backup times from several hours to under 20 minutes, ensured on-time end-of-day processing, simplified management, reduced CapEx and OpEx, and enabled new services such as a BI offering for customers.
