A Nutanix Case Study
The USC Marshall School of Business was struggling with a complex, time-consuming three-tier/blade infrastructure that slowed deployments and constrained compute resources for faculty, students, and staff. IT needed faster provisioning to support research and virtual desktop environments, while also reducing datacenter footprint and power consumption to meet campus “green” goals.
USC migrated to the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud (Acropolis, NX appliances, Prism), enabling a fast, simple hyperconverged environment that runs VMware Horizon, SQL, Exchange, SharePoint and research apps. The rollout cut rackspace and power roughly in half, shortened provisioning from months to days or weeks, eliminated disruptive upgrades, made scaling trivial, and freed IT to better support research and student learning.
