A Nutanix Case Study
The University of Derby needed to ease pressure on a small IT team that was spending too much time firefighting infrastructure issues instead of supporting modernization. It wanted a more automated, manageable environment to support SaaS adoption, Microsoft Azure, and improved services for teaching, learning, and research.
Nutanix upgraded Derby’s infrastructure, helping consolidate on-premises IT services onto one core platform. As a result, the university saw better performance and lower administrative overhead, with student record page loads improving so that only 1% now take over three seconds to load. Nutanix also improved disaster recovery and enabled greater self-service for researchers, while freeing staff to focus on automation, digital transformation, and future cost savings through potential Nutanix AHV adoption.
