Tokushukai Information Systems Moves Mission-Critical Environment to Nutanix Enterprise Cloud OS

Tokushukai Information Systems, the IT arm of a healthcare group operating 71 hospitals and ~340 clinics and care facilities in Japan, was struggling with fragmented, server‑by‑server deployments for PACS, electronic charting, HR/payroll and ordering systems. That approach made hardware hard to manage, caused frequent, labor‑intensive upgrades across sites and risked 30–60 minute outages for mission‑critical electronic charting — driving the need for a centrally managed, highly available platform that could reduce downtime and avoid vendor lock‑in.

Tokushukai selected Nutanix Enterprise Cloud OS (Acropolis/AHV and Prism) running on Dell EMC PowerEdge hardware to consolidate workloads, leverage existing equipment, and simplify upgrades. Testing with real data showed about 50% storage compression; Prism enabled central management and fast VM/hardware provisioning. The platform is now live in three major hospitals, cutting upgrade effort and hardware replacement needs, improving continuity for critical systems and enabling cost‑effective, vendor‑flexible rollouts to other facilities.
