Tokushukai Information Systems boosts charting system compression to 50% with Nutanix

Tokushukai Information Systems, the IT arm of a major Japanese healthcare group, faced challenges managing separate server platforms for its mission-critical hospital systems, including electronic medical charts. This made centralized management difficult and caused significant downtime during manual failovers. Frequent, cumbersome hardware upgrades across 71 hospitals consumed excessive man-hours. They needed a flexible, highly available infrastructure to minimize downtime and simplify upgrades.

Nutanix provided its Enterprise Cloud OS software, including the AHV hypervisor and Prism management plane, deployed on Dell EMC PowerEdge servers. The solution enabled centralized management, drastically reduced potential downtime, and provided exceptional data compression of approximately 50%. Most importantly, Nutanix allowed for hassle-free, cost-effective hardware upgrades without vendor lock-in. The successful deployment at three large hospitals serves as a model for a broader rollout and future hybrid cloud plans.
