A Nutanix Case Study
Tohoku Information Systems (TOiNX), a system integrator for the Tohoku Electric Power Group, needed to modernize its Saiun cloud platform built on an aging, multi‑vendor 3‑tier infrastructure. The legacy setup made operations and maintenance complex, drove up training and design costs, and slowed expansions—simple growth or upgrades could take weeks and required extensive vendor compatibility checks.
TOiNX replaced the old stack with the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud (NX appliances, AHV, and Prism), gaining centralized management, elimination of hypervisor licensing, and simplified operations. The new HCI platform was deployed in about two days, cut design-to-construction time roughly in half, reduced datacenter footprint by ~75%, lowered five-year costs, sped troubleshooting via remote support, and enabled more flexible, competitively priced cloud services.
