The Norinchukin Bank Enables Scalability of Application Service Delivery Infrastructure for 18,000 JA Bank Liaison Officers

The Norinchukin Bank, one of Japan’s largest financial institutions serving agricultural, fishery and forestry cooperatives, needed to modernize and standardize workflows for roughly 18,000 JA Bank liaison officers across 47 prefectures. The bank faced fragmented, region-specific processes using proprietary terminals and paper-based systems, plus uncertainty about how many regions and devices would adopt a new platform and which applications would be needed.

The bank adopted the Nutanix Cloud Platform (AOS, AHV), Nutanix Cloud Manager and Nutanix TAM services, implementing a phased, start-small-and-scale approach with tablet-based edge devices. This delivered standardized operations, centralized upgrades, high stability and faster rollouts—growing from one web app to six applications in about 2.5–3 years—while reducing maintenance overhead and enabling future expansion to larger closed-network infrastructure.
