A Nutanix Case Study
The High Judicial Council (Conselho Superior da Magistratura) is the Portuguese state body that manages and safeguards judges nationwide, coordinating over 1,500 judges and supporting about 100 administrative staff. Facing obsolete, slow physical servers and partial dependence on the Ministry of Justice for hosting, the Council launched a technological independence program to modernize infrastructure and improve administrative and case-related data access.
HJC implemented a Nutanix hyperconverged platform with Nutanix AHV, Veeam Backup and a Nutanix Mine cluster, consolidating its environment into three nodes and virtualizing servers for easier provisioning and scaling. The new solution halved server response and task completion times, sped access to judges’ documentation, simplified management, and reduced energy use and carbon footprint, with VDI rollout under consideration for future work-model changes.
