A Nutanix Case Study
The Bedford College Group faced ongoing support and infrastructure challenges that were slowing IT progress and affecting service reliability. Working with Nutanix and ET Works, the group moved away from its previous server environment and adopted Nutanix systems to support core services including Active Directory, finance, student data and software.
Nutanix implemented a “full Nutanix shop” with active failover between the Kettering and Bedford sites, improved backup security, and one-click reboot capabilities, all monitored through Nutanix Prism. The results included up to 3x better performance on core applications, dramatically reduced complaints, and stronger resilience, with users often not noticing if a node goes down. Nutanix also helped remove a major support pain point, freeing the college to focus on new projects such as Microsoft Teams telephony.
