A Nutanix Case Study
The Texas A&M University System faced significant challenges with its legacy storage platform, which was difficult to manage and troubleshoot, leading to performance and reliability issues. Seeking to reduce hypervisor licensing costs and simplify its infrastructure, the university system turned to the Nutanix Xtreme Computing Platform and the Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV).
Nutanix implemented its hyperconverged infrastructure solution, which included NX-series appliances and the Prism management console. This deployment accelerated provisioning from hours to just 15 minutes, eliminated tens of thousands of dollars in annual licensing costs, and drastically reduced the data center footprint from four racks to a single 2U appliance. Nutanix provided the Texas A&M University System with a scalable, simple-to-manage platform that improved disaster recovery and enabled a small IT team to support rapid growth.
