Testo implements virtual CAD workstations with Nutanix

Testo, a German manufacturer of precision measuring instruments with about 3,500 employees and €427M turnover, needed a more efficient way to support its ~30 CAD design engineers. Traditional high‑end workstations were costly and underutilized, and engineers required the same high graphics performance plus flexible remote/home access to PTC Creo without compromising user experience or data control.

Working with NetPlans, Testo deployed a Nutanix HCI solution on HPE ProLiant DX with Nutanix Prism and AHV, NVIDIA vGPU and Citrix for VDI, replacing local CAD workstations. The platform went from PoC to production in under two days, delivering workstation‑level graphics, higher availability, minimal administration, rapid scaling (to ~75 users) and secure remote access — all with high user satisfaction and hybrid‑cloud options for future growth.
