STANLIB, a multi-specialist asset manager in the financial services sector, needed a stable and flexible IT environment to keep business-critical applications running and enable secure remote work during South Africa’s lockdown restrictions. After a major Nutanix rollout, the company looked to expand its existing infrastructure rather than rebuild it, while ensuring Citrix-hosted desktops could deliver fast, secure access for employees working from home.

Nutanix implemented Nutanix XC740 nodes running Acropolis Ultimate Edition with Prism Central, alongside Citrix Hosted Shared Desktops, allowing STANLIB to repurpose existing hardware and scale its private cloud quickly. The result was no downtime, improved resource allocation, and remote access with millisecond response times; STANLIB grew its Nutanix environment from 20 to 26 nodes, improving availability, security, and business continuity while supporting productivity anywhere with an internet connection.
