Square Enix builds Flexible Virtual Environment to host Multiple Gaming Websites

Square Enix, a gaming and publishing company behind titles like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy, needed a more stable and scalable private cloud to host multiple game and promotional websites. Its IT infrastructure team was struggling with frequent issues in its existing platform, high hardware and maintenance costs, and the operational burden of managing separate environments for different game titles. Square Enix turned to Nutanix, using the Nutanix Cloud Platform including Nutanix Prism, Flow, and Files.

With Nutanix, Square Enix simplified operations, enabled micro-segmentation for each website or environment, and centralized file storage. Nutanix Flow made network separation easier with one-click changes in the web GUI, while Nutanix Files removed the need for existing storage appliances. As a result, Square Enix reduced costs by about 15–20%, lowered man-hours for operations and storage engineering, and improved its ability to respond quickly to new website requests.
