Meritz Securities, a leading South Korean brokerage, faced rapidly growing retail trading volumes and rising data and workload demands that strained its legacy Unix and disparate server estate. The firm struggled with low hardware utilization, high maintenance and software license costs, and slow provisioning cycles that delayed new product launches and limited its ability to scale with customer demand.

Meritz deployed the Nutanix Cloud Platform and Prism as an on‑premises HCI foundation, migrating 85 servers onto 13 nodes in about four months to create a virtualized, centrally managed environment. The change cut provisioning from months to days (development environments now ready in 1–2 days), boosted server utilization over 9× (CPU use ~6×), reduced maintenance and license fees, and delivered the flexibility and operational efficiency to scale quickly and pursue a hybrid cloud roadmap.
