A Nutanix Case Study
Sivantos Group, a global hearing-aid manufacturer with more than 5,000 employees and customers in over 95 countries, was running out of capacity on its legacy Dell/EMC vBlock systems and faced steep licensing and maintenance costs if it upgraded. The IT team needed a scalable, cost-effective infrastructure refresh that would boost performance and simplify ongoing management without a full rip-and-replace.
Sivantos standardized on the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform, deploying hyperconverged clusters across its datacenters. The move cost about 40% of replacing the EMC Vblocks and delivered immediate benefits: VDI performance doubled and login times fell from three minutes to 32 seconds, infrastructure management dropped from ~100 hours/year to nearly zero, nine datacenters are being consolidated to three, co‑lo expenses (~$250K/year) were eliminated, and proactive vendor support and global rollouts are underway as the company moves toward AHV and Citrix.
