Shropshire Council saves £5,400 a year with Nutanix

Shropshire Council, a UK public sector authority, faced significant IT challenges due to its aging and fragmented legacy infrastructure. The mix of servers and storage from different vendors was unreliable, difficult to manage, and required costly separate refresh cycles. Seeking a more reliable and cost-effective solution, the council chose to evaluate hyperconverged infrastructure and engaged with vendor Nutanix.

The council implemented the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform, including AOS with the AHV hypervisor and Prism management. This solution consolidated their compute and storage into a single, modern platform. The results were substantial, including an estimated annual energy savings of £5,400 and a drastic reduction in data center footprint. Nutanix also provided responsive support and the Move migration tool, which simplified the transition of workloads from their old systems.
