Shinsegae Group Delivers its Cloud Strategy Through Nutanix

Shinsegae, the Korean retail group behind department stores, E-marts, duty-free shops, convenience stores, and Starbucks locations, faced the challenge of modernizing IT for 23 affiliated companies while keeping services running nonstop during peak shopping periods. To support its cloud strategy and new software-defined data center, Shinsegae I&C turned to Nutanix Cloud Platform, including AOS with AHV, Prism, Move, and Files.

Nutanix helped Shinsegae consolidate and simplify infrastructure management, improve performance and availability, and migrate critical workloads such as Exchange, Oracle, SAP, and VDI to the new environment. The result was more than 4x the expected IOPS, stable operation even during 10x transaction spikes, holiday updates cut from a day to about one minute, and over 60% of IT workloads now running on Nutanix with plans to reach 100%.
