A Nutanix Case Study
Seven & i Holdings, the Tokyo-based retail group behind SEVEN‑ELEVEN JAPAN and other businesses, sought to accelerate a group‑wide digital transformation by standardizing office automation (OA) and network environments across its many companies. The project faced high per‑company infrastructure costs, deeply integrated legacy PC applications, lengthy coordination requirements for large‑scale integration, and security risks from connecting disparate systems—so the group needed a stable, easy‑to‑integrate platform and application virtualization to minimize business disruption.
Seven & i selected the Nutanix Cloud Platform (AOS, Files, Prism, disk encryption) with VMware ESXi and Nutanix Technical Account Manager support to virtualize more than 20,000 machines and consolidate OA/network services. The rollout delivered a quickly deployable, scalable platform that avoided excessive upfront investment, lowered group IT spend, standardized endpoints and security, reduced maintenance overhead, and improved cross‑company coordination and communication.
