Scottish Council Works Its Way To Cloud First Compliance With Nutanix

Falkirk Council was working to meet the Scottish Government’s cloud-first IT strategy while dealing with legacy systems, hardware dependencies, and the need to keep services running during the Covid-19 pandemic. The council turned to Nutanix to help virtualize and move around 140 physical servers into a new environment, while also supporting additional needs like virtual desktops, file services, and security.

Using Nutanix clusters, Nutanix Files, Nutanix Flow, Nutanix DaaS Frame, and Nutanix Mine with Veeam and Wasabi Cloud, Falkirk Council modernized its infrastructure with minimal disruption. Nutanix enabled the council to scale quickly, get trial users running in just over 2 hours, eliminate tape backups, and improve disaster recovery and ransomware protection as part of its long-term digital transformation.
