A Nutanix Case Study
RBL Bank, a digital leader in India’s financial services sector, needed to replace a slow, complex three-tier IT environment that was hurting end-user computing, database performance, and time-to-market for new services. Working with Nutanix, the bank used Nutanix Enterprise Cloud and database/end-user computing solutions to support its Digital First strategy and reduce operational friction.
Nutanix implemented a 14-node Enterprise Cloud cluster for VDI, then expanded it with DBaaS capabilities using Nutanix Database Service, AHV, Prism Central, Flow, and Calm. The results were significant: login times fell from 180 seconds to 30 seconds, call-center applications and databases ran 6x faster, EUC service tickets dropped 99%, database provisioning time improved by 90%, and new services could be launched in 4-6 hours instead of 2-4 days. RBL Bank also cut customer acquisition costs by half, improved call-center efficiency by 35%, and scaled database capacity from 15,000 to 65,000-70,000 transactions per day.
