Olam transforms agriculture business with Nutanix hybrid cloud

Olam International, a global food and agricultural company, set out to re-imagine farming and food systems through an ambitious end-to-end digital transformation. Faced with the limitations of a legacy three‑tier infrastructure and the need to unify private and public cloud workloads across farmers, processing plants, logistics and customers, Olam required a software-driven hybrid cloud platform that could scale, improve reliability and break down data silos.

Olam deployed the Nutanix Cloud Platform (Acropolis/AHV, Prism Pro and Files), starting with a three-node HCI and expanding to 40+ nodes to support ~95% of its applications, including SAP, databases and VDI. The move delivered 99.999% availability, an 85% drop in IT incidents, server utilization up to 70% (from 20–30%), 30% lower infrastructure costs, rapid scaling of VDI for 1,500 remote users in 3–4 weeks, and 100% end-user satisfaction—enabling Olam’s hybrid‑cloud digital strategy.
