Nutanix Supports the Yogyakarta City Communication, Informatics and Encryption Office to Realize Smart City Vision

The Yogyakarta City Communication, Informatics and Encryption Office (Diskominfosan) operates Jogja Smart Service (JSS), a virtual city hall delivering 229 integrated public services to over 217,000 citizens. Confronted with hundreds of siloed applications, complex multi‑server infrastructure, slow and error‑prone VM operations, frequent maintenance downtime and difficulties with data integration, the city needed a flexible, easy‑to‑operate platform to scale services, enable DevOps and meet national e‑government objectives.

Diskominfosan migrated 90% of core systems to Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure—using AOS storage, AHV virtualization, Nutanix Kubernetes Engine and Nutanix Cloud Manager—to consolidate applications, implement Single ID/Single Window/SSO and adopt microservices/Kubernetes. The result: support for a 2× increase in users, application response times under 5 seconds, zero unplanned downtime, roughly 50% lower TCO and about 80% savings in man‑hours, along with greater automation, scalability and improved public trust.
