A Nutanix Case Study
Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), a leading private university serving nearly 25,000 students, faced an urgent IT overhaul: aging, siloed legacy applications and slow, manual CI/CD processes left the digitally‑literate student body underserved. Under CIO Dr. Mukhammad Andri Setiawan, the university committed to a revolutionary digitalization strategy built around microservices, but deployment and orchestration on the old infrastructure took months and hindered progress.
UII implemented a Nutanix Enterprise Cloud (Acropolis/AHV, Prism, Karbon, Calm) in a two‑site hybrid cloud to run its CI/CD pipeline, Kubernetes microservices and core applications. The result: microservices deployment shrank from six months to 2–3 days, Kubernetes clusters spin up in about 10 minutes, automated failover and snapshots boosted resiliency and confidence in 99% uptime, and the IT team has been freed from infrastructure overhead to focus on value‑adding services and teaching.
