Nutanix Concocts Perfect Infrastructure Formula for Kaneka Malaysia Group

Kaneka Malaysia Group, a major chemical manufacturer, faced mounting pressure from industry commoditization to innovate while cutting costs. An IT assessment revealed a costly, hard-to-scale three-tier infrastructure with poor resilience and inconsistent deployments, prompting management to consider a full infrastructure overhaul.

Kaneka implemented Nutanix Enterprise Cloud OS—migrating 34 servers and virtualizing SAP, SharePoint, HRMS and other systems using Nutanix AHV and Prism—completing the rollout in four months with no business disruption. The new platform drove a 35% productivity gain, a 91% drop in IT support (saving 477 man‑hours), 15 fewer servers and a 300 sq ft smaller datacenter, 83% lower power use, and an estimated RM1.5 million (≈ $379K) cost reduction over five years.
