Case Study: Jeju Shinhwa World achieves Korea’s first SDDC, consolidates 80+ apps and saves KRW 20B with Nutanix

A Nutanix Case Study

Preview of the Jeju Shinhwa World Case Study

Nutanix Combines all Business Workloads onto One Single Platform

Jeju Shinhwa World, Korea’s largest integrated resort on Jeju Island, faced a tight deadline and remote-location constraints to open with highly available IT for hotels, theme parks and a casino. The team needed to build two on‑premises datacenters with DR, achieve 100% virtualization (compute, network and storage), minimize management complexity, and ensure compatibility and reliability for 88 business‑critical applications including Oracle OPERA PMS, SAP HANA and casino/ POS systems.

They deployed the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud (AOS with AHV and Prism) to consolidate all workloads onto a single hyperconverged platform. The result: all 88 apps and ~2,000 VMs now run on 72 Nutanix nodes, provisioning and testing completed in three weeks with three engineers, a VMware migration finished in four hours, and datacenter costs cut by about KRW 20 billion. Operations are non‑disruptive with one‑click SAP upgrades, real‑time monitoring and predictive capacity planning, and a 40% reduction in planned footprint.
