A Nutanix Case Study
The National Diet Library, custodian of over 45 million items, needed to renew a legacy system that could no longer handle the scale of its digitization program, growing data-storage needs, and mixed service-level requirements—all under a tight schedule. The library sought a solution that would accelerate digitization, simplify operations, and allow it to bring infrastructure management in-house.
Working with Marubeni Information Systems, the library deployed a Nutanix hyperconverged platform (AHV, AOS, Kubernetes Engine) with Nutanix Cloud Manager, TAM support, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and hybrid on‑prem/on‑cloud storage (CIFS/NFS + AWS). The turnkey HCI was installed in three months, eliminated external storage complexity, enabled about 60 VMs for digitization workflows, and—through Prism management and TAM training—significantly reduced management man‑hours while improving operational efficiency.
