NTT SmartConnect Enhances Two IaaS Infrastructures with Secure Network Connectivity and Public Cloud Connectivity

NTT SmartConnect, a Japanese service provider offering VPS, bare‑metal HaaS (SCP) and other cloud services, faced aging three‑tier infrastructure that struggled with streaming traffic, frequent outages and limited data center capacity. The company needed greater agility to support high subscriber volumes and the ability to move services if platform support ended.

NTT SmartConnect deployed the Nutanix Cloud Platform (HCI with AOS storage and VMware ESXi) on HPE ProLiant hardware, bringing deployment in‑house and extending Nutanix across VPS and SCP (over 100 nodes). The transition delivered up to 5× faster performance, ~20% smaller data center footprint, 30% data compression via deduplication, simpler backups and remote troubleshooting, and improved scalability and operational efficiency.
