Belfast City Airport needed to replace an end-of-life 3-tier IT infrastructure, improve scalability for growth, and cut rising costs while adding proper disaster recovery. Vendor Nutanix, working through Leaf IT, was selected to modernize the airport’s environment with a hyperconverged platform and the Nutanix AHV hypervisor.

Nutanix implemented two Nutanix Enterprise Cloud clusters with Prism Central management, off-site replication, and disaster recovery, enabling Belfast City Airport to move 16TB of data and 56 virtual workloads in just two weeks with no service disruption. The results included a 40% reduction in operational expenditure, immediate performance gains, much greater agility, a major rack-space reduction from 42U to 7U total, and no-cost virtualization through AHV.
