North Pacific Bank Non-Disruptively migrates Mission-Critical Business Environments at Branch Counters with Zero Downtime

North Pacific Bank, the largest regional bank in Hokkaido, needed to replace aging thin‑client PCs and migrate a mission‑critical Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environment used by employees at branches and its call center. The environment supported roughly 6,000 terminals and tablets, and the bank could not tolerate any service interruption; legacy 3‑tier infrastructure, high renewal costs and limited in‑house hypervisor migration expertise made the move challenging.

The bank implemented the Nutanix Cloud Platform (AOS, AHV, Prism, Nutanix Move) with Nutanix Consulting and TAM services and executed a phased migration over 12 weekends to AHV. The migration was completed with zero downtime, delivering RF3 data resiliency, broader OS support, easier scaling, improved thin‑client availability and a reduced total cost of virtualization for the bank’s ~6,000 endpoints.
