Nikkei Inc. Adopts Nutanix and Revamps its Core System that Supports Newspaper Production

Nikkei, the Japanese media company behind The Nikkei newspaper and related digital services, needed to modernize its core system for newspaper production and business operations. Its existing three-tier private-cloud environment was difficult to scale, required time-consuming manual backups and resource procurement, and created heavy operational overhead. Nikkei chose Nutanix AOS and Nutanix Prism to support its NEO core system and related production and back-office applications.

With Nutanix, Nikkei rebuilt NEO into a more flexible hyper-converged platform, enabling smoother scaling without changing the application layer. Nutanix helped Nikkei improve availability, simplify backup operations, and semi-automate tasks such as VM provisioning; backup work that once took weeks can now be completed in days. Nikkei also expanded capacity quickly when remote-work demand surged, reducing management load and improving operational efficiency with Nutanix.
