Nikkei Advanced Systems Adopts Nutanix to Improve BCP and Automates IaaS Platform Issue Detection and Alert Functions

Nikkei Advanced Systems (NAS), an IT-service and datacenter provider that runs the Secure Web Service IaaS, faced an urgent need to replace unsupported free backup tools that lacked automated issue detection and alerting. Because backup costs are passed to customers, NAS required a cost-effective solution that preserved existing backup workflows while reducing operational overhead and management man-hours.

NAS adopted the Nutanix Cloud Platform (with Veeam) as a low-cost, scalable replacement, deploying a backup environment in late 2020 and piloting in early 2021 to cover roughly 70 VMs. The new solution centralized backup across multiple virtualization platforms, automated malfunction detection and alerts (eliminating custom scripts), cut backup management hours and costs, and positioned NAS to expand IaaS and implement cloud-based DR with providers like AWS.
