Nedbank, a major South African financial services provider, faced challenges with its legacy Citrix VDI solution, which was constrained by a silo-based approach. Seeking to optimize processes and gain ownership of its entire solution stack, Nedbank partnered with Nutanix to find a more efficient and secure way to deliver desktops.
Using Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure and its built-in Life Cycle Manager (LCM), Nedbank implemented a hyper-converged environment. This solution allowed the bank to perform non-disruptive upgrades and maintenance during business hours, completely eliminating IT overtime related to VDI. The Nutanix implementation provided 99.999% uptime, enabled the bank to seamlessly scale its systems to support remote work during the pandemic without increasing infrastructure, and is managed by a dedicated team of only five people.
