A Nutanix Case Study

Preview of the Nanjing Securities Case Study

Nanjing Securities Upgrades to the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform

Nanjing Securities, a major Chinese securities firm, needed to modernize its private cloud to support rapid Internet-driven business growth and unpredictable demand for virtual desktops and applications. The IT team faced the prospect of nearly doubling capacity—from 12 blade servers to at least 28—and expanding shared storage, which would have raised procurement, configuration and maintenance costs and strained operations and user experience.

The firm replaced its legacy architecture with Dell XC web-scale converged appliances powered by Nutanix Acropolis and Prism, consolidating compute and storage into seven XC730 nodes and running Citrix VDI. The upgrade doubled desktop capacity while using fewer resources, was deployed in about two months (saving several weeks versus traditional methods), reduced rack space to roughly 1.5 cabinets, eased management, lowered I/O pressure for VDI, and delivered flexible, scalable infrastructure for future growth.
