MSIG Asia migrates 2,000 VMs to Nutanix AHV and avoids a fourfold VMware cost increase

MSIG Asia, part of the global MS&AD Insurance Group, sought to enhance the scalability and agility of its core IT infrastructure to drive innovation. The company wanted to replace its legacy three-tier solution with a hybrid-cloud platform to maintain control over its data and reduce compliance burdens. They partnered with Nutanix to modernize their infrastructure and move away from VMware.

Nutanix implemented its hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) and the AHV hypervisor, transitioning approximately 2,000 virtual machines. This solution helped MSIG Asia avoid a substantial four-fold increase in VMware renewal costs and simplified management through the Nutanix Prism console. The results included increased IT efficiency, freed resources to invest in an AI roadmap, and greater agility to accelerate digital transformation and serve the business better.
